Cartier Women's Initiative Award 2019

When small actions rebound off one another to make bigger and bigger changes, they carry their impact into an ever-widening sphere. In globalised economies and an ever-increasing concentration of powers, impact-driven ventures are a vital part of the human chain, where one action creates a chain reaction that ripples through society at large. Given the chance to radiate, a single transformative idea can change not just a local area or community, but a region, a country, a continent or the world.

Kotchakorn Voraakhom is the founder of the landscape architecture design firm Landprocess and the social enterprise Porous City Network, which is working to solve urban environmental problems and increase urban resilience across Southeast Asia by aiding, engaging and educating climate ulnerable communities in productive landscape design.
